The Tragic Week in Barcelona.

In 1906 there was an uprising in Barcelona due to the events in Algeciras, where thousands of soldiers were going to fight this war.

The facts are linked to the war in Morocco. France and Spain had agreed at the 1906 Algeciras Conference share the Moroccan territory. The interest of Spain was strategic and economic. The military considered as compensation for the loss of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. But the natives organized in Kabylia Spanish troops fought causing numerous casualties.
